My basketball shoes aren't sticky. They are brand new and have no traction. I keep the bottoms clean and?

I can't go get new ones. Any substance i can put on the bottom to keep them sticky? ANY advice would be great! thanks!

If you are in an indoor court you can spit on the floor and wipe your shoes against it. Trust me it helps.
Reply:Yeah, i bought a pair of Wade 1.3 a few months ago, and the second game i wore it, i started to feel really slippery on the court. I though i wasted my money on the shoes, but i cleaned the bottom of my shoe and now i get pretty good traction. The court was dusty so i couldn't get much grip at all.
Reply:its probably the court. its probably old and dusty. so the best thing would be to dab some water on the soles of your shoes to get some traction.
Reply:get a wet/damp towel and step on it with your shoes. repeat every so often as desired. lots of dirty floors. wet mop that floor
Reply:if it's new shoes then it's probably the floor (dirty and old).. if you just use them indoors you can just regularly wipe the bottom with with your hand..everybody does that...
Reply:there could be two problems, 1 the court you are playing on could be dirty, indoors a dusty court causes a lot of traction problems, and outdoors courts just tend to get dirty and slippery. 2 most of the time basketball shoes need this stickey paper stuff that you step on and it gives your shoes traction
