Not Starbury's though...I'm looking for specific shoes(preferably Nike shoes or Air Jordans)

Good old "Chuck Taylor All-Stars" by Converse. Functional and old-school cool.

b/c im a pg at 5'7 and tend to explode to the hoops this shoes are very nice except they are sorta flimsy

the best shoes I've ever balled in are the lebron II's even though they are pretty hard to acquire now.

I also like to ball in s carter bb III or something like that. They are cheap (i got them couple month's ago for $30) and they are pretty comfortable
Reply:I use the Adidas Pro Model S. I got them for $50. They are working great and they are good looking. I highly reccommend these shoes for any basketball player.

Reply:Check the markdowns at www.eastbay.com. Good shoes but they are marked down because they are last-year's editions. All the major name brands are there.
Reply:Another vote for Converse. The coach in high school actually recommended them.

Turf shoes for outdoor wear and on futsal/basketball courts?

My brother bought an adidas Absolado TRX TF turf shoe...is it possible to wear it as a sneaker for everyday use or for outdoor futsal/basketball courts?

Turf shoes are fine outdoors. Do not use them to play indoor sports though.

For those who are on 2006-2007 high school/college basketball teams: what shoes does your team wear?

The boys varsity team at the school where I teach and coach has adidas promodels in navy blue. I have seen numerous teams in Nike's new team shoe styles also this year.

Should I play basketball in tennis shoes?

What are the advantages/disadvantages?

Should I play basketball in tennis shoes?
It really is ok to play in tennis shoes if they have good support. thats really all that matters, becuase with good suporrt you avoid shin splints and flat feet which slow you down and are painful. but the disadvantage of tennis shoes is that they dont have the specialized grip for the court on the bottom such as basketball shoes do. another factor that you may like is the looks of the shoe. if your going for that,, basketball shoes such as jordans or T-macs or the kobes will be great and make sure ppl take a double look. but all that matters most is the support. you can also buy shoe inserts for that
Reply:be better than combat boots!

lol
Reply:no should wear basketball shoes because they are specialized for b-ball and tennis shoes are specialized for tennis so wear b -ball shoes
Reply:I recommend basketball shoes as well, mainly because tennis shoes don't give you the ankle support you need when you are playing basketball. One false step or cross- over and you can twist your ankle. And you don't want that to happen, do you?

Does anyone get self concious when wearing size 14 shoes while playing basketball in high school?

varsity basketball

Does anyone get self concious when wearing size 14 shoes while playing basketball in high school?
no
Reply:How tall are you?

If you are over 6-4, then who cares?
Reply:size 14 aint bad...you should be proud of a big foot..big feet, big hands...lol
Reply:You know I don't have big feet but just as anyone else on here that would be embarrassing especially if people tease you about it all the time. Just like people who have long fingers or a big nose or something like that.
Reply:I don't have that problem but If doesn't really matter what people think.

Think about this, do you care what shoes people wear...

Reply:There's no need to be self conscious of yourself. Everyone's different, just look at Shaq. He has HUGE feet, but that never stopped him. Yao Ming has big feet, too. Only a total jerk would make fun of someone because of their shoe size. If you just go out on that court and just play, you'll be fine. My feet are big for my age, and I play all different sports. Your body size should never stop you from achieving your goals.
Reply:join a circus.
Reply:i personally dont think it matters unless your under 5'8 then its goofy lol. my friend is size 14 but then again he is horrable at basketball
Reply:aww..don't become embarrsed over a shoe size!!..it's so not worth it. And most likely you are quite tall with a shoe size that is 14. I am thinking your feet likely fits your body quite well.
Reply:you know what they say about big feet........
Reply:You shouldn't care about that stuff because people don't really give a damn......
Reply:Though not a lot of people can relate to that issue, I can see how it can make a person self conscious. My boyfriend wears a size 18 and is 6'10 in height. He told me before that he used to be uncomfortable with his size, especially in high school. All I have to say is that the myth is definitely true, so be proud of your size 14's!
Reply:When I was playing high school basketball in 1988/89, I wore a size 16. Don't worry about the size of you feet. Work on making you game better. If you are still self-concious, wear black sneakers. They won't make your feet look as big.
Reply:no its perfectly fine, im on jv and i have 14 shoe, and big shoe means big ding dong haha dont worry bout it
Reply:the big one or small??? if small, ouch. if big, its gonna take itself off!

I play basketball and my shoes are starting to stink what should i do to remove the stink and prevent it?

Try putting a fresh dryer sheet in each shoe.

newspapers, and dryer sheets will help unless your shoes have mold in them
Reply:You might try sprinkling baking soda in your shoes and on your socks as it is considered a good deoderant.

Baking soda may be used for personal care, as a non-scratch cleanser, fire extinguisher and more. It's really handy to keep in the house. If you're interested in more about it, you might like to visit my article at:

I hope this helps you!
Reply:Start by always wearing clean socks, you can wash them with a tiny splash of bleach to insure bacteria are killed. Get a set of odor eater insoles, that you can change out if they get funky. If they are stinky now, sprinkle the inside well with baking soda and let them sit overnight, bang out the powder and start again tomorrow until the odor is gone.
