Can you wear basketball rubber shoes instead as an altenative for futsal shoes?

I would highly recommend against using basketball shoes for a game of football. Basketball shoes are designed to grip flat surfaces, while a shoe designed for football digs into the ground (usually with cleats). You can wear basketball shoes and play a game of football just fine, but don't be surprised if you find yourself slipping every time you try to make a sharp cut.

Actually basketball shoes have been used in the infamous "Sneakers Game", the 1934 NFL Championship Game between Chicago and NY Giants at the Polo Grounds. The ground was covered in a sheet of ice and the Giants took basketball shoes from the nearby locker room and had better traction with them on the icy field, enabling them to blow out Chicago 30-13.





Otherwise, they can be used on turf, but really aren't recommended for normal use as they don't give you the traction necessary to make quick cuts on a normal grass surface.
