What shoes are good for basketball, look good, and arent very expensive?

b/c im a pg at 5'7 and tend to explode to the hoops this shoes are very nice except they are sorta flimsy
the best shoes I've ever balled in are the lebron II's even though they are pretty hard to acquire now.
I also like to ball in s carter bb III or something like that. They are cheap (i got them couple month's ago for $30) and they are pretty comfortable

My brother bought an adidas Absolado TRX TF turf shoe...is it possible to wear it as a sneaker for everyday use or for outdoor futsal/basketball courts?

It really is ok to play in tennis shoes if they have good support. thats really all that matters, becuase with good suporrt you avoid shin splints and flat feet which slow you down and are painful. but the disadvantage of tennis shoes is that they dont have the specialized grip for the court on the bottom such as basketball shoes do. another factor that you may like is the looks of the shoe. if your going for that,, basketball shoes such as jordans or T-macs or the kobes will be great and make sure ppl take a double look. but all that matters most is the support. you can also buy shoe inserts for that

Only a total jerk would make fun of someone because of their shoe size. If you just go out on that court and just play, you'll be fine. My feet are big for my age, and I play all different sports. Your body size should never stop you from achieving your goals.

Try putting a fresh dryer sheet in each shoe.

I know that pressure and balance can be critical because I had these track shoes that felt like massive piles of 2x4s. I almost fell 4 times during the season. But otherwise the shoe makes NO difference whatsoever. I had the same shoes as this other kid for basketball and I blocked him 3 straight times even though he was really the better player; I just dominated him on defensive because of my height (6'2")

I would highly recommend against using basketball shoes for a game of football. Basketball shoes are designed to grip flat surfaces, while a shoe designed for football digs into the ground (usually with cleats). You can wear basketball shoes and play a game of football just fine, but don't be surprised if you find yourself slipping every time you try to make a sharp cut.

Get some black shoes to play ball in, they will stay clean because they are black. Thats what I do. Then I got some white AF1s for when I go out.

Reply:buy some and1 asphalt mids. i used to play twice a day everday and they lasted an entire year with me wearing them all day even on weekends. if you buy starburys and they wear out in a few months you could still buy about 4 pairs for the same price as more expensive nike's or adidas so, for your money you could get about 4 times as much playing time for your money.

If the mid-sole (area between the sole and leathery parts) starts to show signs of being compressed from wearing the shoe too much then it decreases your comfortability in the shoe.
If the sock liner has cuts or is being worn through to the leather parts then you will get wear marks on your ankles.
If your tread is worn down. (obvious)

I was wondering why basketball players often touch the bottom/soles of their shoes especially after they shoot a foul shot. After they shoot the first one, theyll touch the bottom of their shoes, one at a time, and then throw the other shot. They sometimes do it when they are just standing around too.

Just make sure you don't where them outside. ever. Once you do they're pretty much useless because the whole point of them is the grip on the bottom. You lose even a little of that and your screwed

Walk around your house first so you are sure they are comfortable. Make sure that if you wear ankle braces or anything like that, you are wearing them so you know how they will truly feel when you play. Then if you feel they are comfortable, do a few jumps and jumping-jacks. Jumping rope is also really good. Finally go for a quick jog in them, and you should be all set.

Just make sure you don't where them outside. ever. Once you do they're pretty much useless because the whole point of them is the grip on the bottom. You lose even a little of that and your screwed
Reply:Breaking in new basketball shoes ispretty hard due to the materials they are made of, and can take some time before it really "molds" to your foot.
Walk around your house first so you are sure they are comfortable. Make sure that if you wear ankle braces or anything like that, you are wearing them so you know how they will truly feel when you play. Then if you feel they are comfortable, do a few jumps and jumping-jacks. Jumping rope is also really good. Finally go for a quick jog in them, and you should be all set.

As a rec coach i get asked this alot. Sometimes if the shoes are older the rubber soles can form a slick glaze from lack of use. Also new shoes that are only worn inside can actually become slicker from the constant sliding on a smooth wooden floor. The best and easiest method to "roughen" the bottom of your shoes is as you walk into the gym drag your shoes slightly and scrape the bottoms. This will get any glaze off the rubber and make the bottoms stick to the floor better. Cleaning the bottoms with a mild soap will also help keep them from forming a glaze and becoming hard. Good luck!
