Basketball shoes are way over-priced, but if you want brand names (i.e. Nike, Addidas, Reebok) watch for the ads from your local sporting goods store. On the west coast, Big 5 sporting goods usually has a good pair on sale once a week for $39.99.





If you are not worried about the brand names most sporting goods stores should sell Shaq's shoes or Stephan Marbury's "Starburys" which are under 40 bucks.





You can also check the clearance racks at your neighborhood shoe stores. You can usually find some good deals, but keep in mind, these shoes don't have boxes because they are usually pairs that have been returned.

uh no. you have to go search around the web or go to the nike factory or at outlet malls. Basically sometimes at your local shoe store if theres like a clearance section go check it out. In New York City, i love going to the clearance section the other day I saw them selling some kobe 1's and stuff no box for like 60 dollars. Lol I know your asking for fourty but just go online and check out stuff or at the clearance section.

Reply:The Starbury shoe is an inexpensive shoe, and pretty decent. Nike bought the Starter name, and you can find that shoe at discounters like Walmart, and if you are comfortable not trying on a shoe, but pretty sure that you know what you want, then check out Final Score which is the outlet store for eastbay.com Top product at discounted prices.





There's also the shot to go to nike, addidas, new balance, etc. websites and see what they are discounting. I'm a fan of pearl izuma's running shoes, and you can usually find them on close-out at their website.





You absolutely can find good shoes for less than 40, but you will have to look.
