If you are going to play, buy top of the line good quality even if they cost more money because they will give you the proper suupport for your ankles and feet.
That will save you a lot of ankle and foot injuries.

Reply:The best place I could think of is Finishline, they have many great athletic shoes including basketball here is there website http://www.finishline.com you can check there and see what they have and also look for the brand of shoe that the person wore and see if they sell it and if so Finishline should have it! whatever shoes you get need to be light so that you may move faster on the court. You want to be able to push the ball down the floor without worrying about carrying big ol' cinder blocks down the court lol

Shoes are overrated. What's best for a point guard is to go to some basketball camps, study film, and listen to the coach.
Dribble with your head up, looking down the court. Be a team leader. Run the plays, look for the open man. Have the quickness to get to the hoop, but the awareness to dish to the ball to the open man if the defense closes in on you.
Have the ability to knock down jumpers if the defense sags off, leaves you to double someone else, or goes under a screen.
Play defense with your eyes focused on your defender's hips. Don't watch the ball, and don't go for fakes. Call out screens. Keep your hands up, and defend in a crouching position with your knees slightly forward and your butt back. Keep yourself between your man and the basket. Notice if he is right-handed or left-handed, and then play so that he is forced to his weaker side. Use the sideline as another defender, and never allow your man to drive baseline.
Being a point guard doesn't have much to do with shoes. It's about awareness and practice.
There are NO point guards who are good because they were good shoes. Just get some basketball shoes that are the right size and protect your ankles.

Jordan XX! Low cut feel, but mid-cut support with the ankle strap. The IPS cushioning system feels amazing while keeping weight to a minimum. The stealth black color makes it look absolutely gorgeous!

Jordan Laneys are on sale now for 69.99 at Foot Locker. They are nice in appearance, not heavy, and provides good cushion and traction. A lot of the Nike Team series are good too like the Airmax elite and the nike elite huarache. You could also try and search them off ebay... just be careful of the fakes there though. KG's bounce basketball shoes sell for about 80 bucks at Finish Line. They are a good pair to ball with too.
Reply:I've had numerous pairs of Shox and they are good if you are going to use them once in awhile. If you are going to play a whole season Shox won't make it through. If you are looking for a good pair of shoes and don't want to pay with both of your arms look at Starbury 1's which are put out by Stephon Marbury. Stephon and Ben Wallace where them in games and they go for $15 bucks. They were released so inner city kids could afford shoes that super stars wore.
